Peshpex 1992

January 1992 witnessed the holding of the 2nd national philatelic exhibition at Peshawar. This exhibition was staged on a much larger scale as compared to the exhibition of 1990. Mr. Amir Nawaz Khan then director General of Pakistan Post Office Department inaugurated the exhibition personally on a chilly and dry morning.

Over 100 exhibits of eminent philatelists from all over the country were put on display in three competitive classes. In addition to these valuable exhibits teenage students of around 40 local schools participated in the junior section of the competition.  Pakistan Post Office department took part in this exhibition more enthusiastically besides opening a special philatelic counter four special postmarks were also issued to commemorate each day of the exhibition.

Alas, soon after the exhibition the society suffered the tragic loss in the sad demise of two of its most active members i.e. M/s Iftikhar A. Kazi and Gulzar Ahmad Chudary who happened to be the Chairman of the just concluded exhibition. In quick succession the society decided to honor them by dedicating the next exhibition to their memory.
