Fabulous exhibition of stamps and coins

Nishtar Hall, Abaseen Arts Council, Peshawar

         With Collaboration of Peshawar Stamp Society, the Directorate of Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) has arranged a fabulous exhibition of stamps and coins on 12th & 13th of December 2013 at Nishtar Hall, Abaseen Arts Council, Peshawar, which remained open for the audience from 10am till 7pm.

        

       The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Arif Yousaf, Parliamentary Secretary Cultural and Member Provincial Assembly KPK & Mr. Fazl-e-Sattar, Additional Director General Pakistan Post. Both in their speeches emphasizes on the hobby of stamps and coins collection and told that it is one of the most important hobbies for both elders as well as for the young ones and especially it is a source of an education for the students and it should be followed. Both the guests took great interest in the stamps and coins collection. On this occasion Syed Imtiaz Hussain Rizvi gives briefing to the guests about the collections.

       

    Pakistan Post has their own special philatelic counter where Pakistani old and new commemorative stamps were displayed and for sale to stamp collectors  and lot of collectors took great interest to buy these Pakistani stamps for their collection. Chief Guest Mr. Arif Yousaf (MPA KPK) & Mr. Fazl-e-Sattar (ADG Pakistan Post) visited the philatelic counter and issued the first day cover by special postmark because Pakistan Post has issued two special postmark for two days 1st on December 12, 2013 on Opening & Youth Collectors Day and second on December 13, 2013 on Cultural and Award Day, which the collectors used to make special covers. The both covers were available for sale for all stamp collectors and visitors on their issuing dates.

On the award distribution ceremony day, the chief Guest was Mr. Tariq Jameel, Secretary Culture and Information KPK, who distributed certificates and cash prizes among the philatelists and numismatists. The chief guest awarded Mr. Allauddin, Mr. Asad Babar, Mr. M Tariq Khattak and Mr. Khalid Ghanni certificates and cash prizes for standing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively on their exhibits. The chief guest also awarded certificates and cash prizes among numismatists. Kiran Sohail Khattak got 3rd position for her Pakistan coins collections and received a certificate and cash award from the chief guest.

    On this occasion, the chief Guest Mr. Tariq Jameel said in his speech that “those people succeed in their life that protect their culture, stamp highlighted the culture of our country. It is also a source of education and students must follow it”. On this occasion he congratulated all the winners. He specially thanked the members Peshawar Stamp Society & Khyber Philatelic Association that because of their contribution and expertise a wonderful exhibition has been organized.

     Mr. Nawaz Siddiqi, Chairman Peshawar Stamp Society, Mr. Muhammad Tariq Khattak, President Peshawar Stamp Society & Syed Imtiaz Hussain Rizvi, President Khyber Philatelic Association thanked Mr. Tariq Jameel, Mr. Nasir khan, additional Secretary Cultural Department of KPK, Mr. Riaz Khan, Assistant Director Cultural Department KPK, Mr. Mehmood Khan, Director  Cultural Department and Nishter Hall KPK and all other  organizers for their cooperation.

     On this occasion Mr. Khalid Ghanni and Uncle Tony were thanks for their Photography. That these people captured the precious moments of the exhibition in their cameras. The Jury members for Stamps consist of Muhammad Nawaz Siddique and Syed Imtiaz Hussain Rizvi. The Jury members for coins collection consist of Mr. Nida Ullah Sehrai, Director Archeology, Peshawar Museum.

       In this exhibition, philatelists from different part of the province like Parachinar, Kurram Agency, Bannu, Chitral, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar, Karak, Kohat participated and some of them even display their collections. Mr. Mian Sajid Ali from Lahore send his collection on “Bhutto Family” and he was awarded a special certificate.  Mr. Riaz Shah a senior Philatelist from Bannu visited and attended the exhibition. On this occasion members of Khyber Philatelic Association also participated.
